Each branch is supposed to perform tasks of the SIA in enforcing the investment climate in the related governorate . So branches of SIA are activated in some governorates as per the resolution Nr.90 of 17/11/2009 of the director general of (SIA) which stipulated mission of the branches and the mechanism of their work such as :

• Licensing investment projects as per provisions of the decree Nr.8 of 2007 which shall be established within the governorates , and performing any related amendments throughout the one-stop-shop in the branch , where all

Concerned ministries and entities are represented .

• Simplification of investment related procedures .
• Following – up project in the governorate .
• Performing all promotional activities to attract and encourage investments in the governorate .

The branch accomplishes all services related to investment without referring to the central administration (SIA) except concerning some cases , such as cancellation of projects or for obtaining customs exemption on projects imports . It is worth mentioning that branches which are currently active are in Hama and Al Raqqa cities . The following table shows the addresses of branches opened in Syria with phone and fax numbers :
